About Bhavleen

About Bhavleen

Growing up a first-generation American and woman of color in Queens, New York, I was surrounded by a family of entrepreneurs. I saw first-hand how hard work pays off. I also witnessed the difficulties that people who are discriminated against face. It was these experiences that motivated me to fight for the rights of individuals as well as business owners who are faced with losing what they’ve worked hard to build in the form of a lawsuit.
As an experienced litigator for more than a decade with a focus on employment law as well as experience working with boards of directors of cooperatives and condominiums, I represent corporate management defendants and plaintiffs involved in cases based on claims of discrimination and harassment, as well as matters involving the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and breach of contract.
Additionally, I also work as assigned counsel for several national insurance companies and collaborate with various parties to handle complex pre-litigation and litigation matters. With several defense verdicts which include bench and jury trials, I am proud of my demonstrated track record of success as a litigator.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost to have your office represent me?

Payment depends on the case. In some cases, such as those that end up in court, payment comes out of the settlement itself at the end of the process. In other cases, such as involving review of separation agreements or cases where employment counseling is sought, payment may be charged on an hourly basis.

Lawyers often have negative reputations, what makes you different?

I am very different from the average lawyer. I know that being faced with a legal issue is not easy. Through listening, caring, and being sympathetic, I strive to make the legal process go smoother for my clients. At the same time, I am a zealous advocate for my clients in the courtroom and I am steadfast in my mission to deliver the results that my clients are seeking.

What kind of law do you practice?

I practice employment law and represent both employers and individuals in need of legal representation. My experience representing both sides has endowed me with a unique perspective to the benefit of my clients.
